Chris Knight
Thursday, October 26, 2006
This
singer-songwriter's Kentucky twang can break your heart with his
singing, but his songwriting is even stronger. He is often compared
to Johnny Cash, Steve Earle, John Prine, Bob Dylan, and John Hyatt.
His version of Americana rock 'n' roll is executed by a band that
kicks like day-old moonshine. Couple that with his bone-chilling
vocal delivery of songs that reel you in with hooks and bridges
worthy of the best A-list Nashville song-crafters and the final
result is killer music. Chris Knight is neither a flash in the pan
nor the fabrication of some production wiz. He is one of the brightest
new talents in the Americana world. In 2003 he was declared an "Honorary
Texas Citizen" by Governor Rick Perry.

Puttin' on the Hitz
The Best of Irving Berlin
Friday, January 26, 2007
Created
by the producers of Country Tonight, Forever Plaid,
and American Rhapsody to name a few, Puttin' on the Hitz
is a musical journey featuring the best songs of Irving Berlin.
With scintillating choreography, spectacular scenery and sophisticated
costumes, a dynamic cast of eight singer/dancers plus a quartet
of the finest jazz musicians as they put on their top hat, white
tie and tails underneath the stars of the Manhattan skyline and
strut their stuff. Berlin's career covered Broadway musicals, movie
musical classics and some of the most treasured songs of the twentieth
century. White Christmas is one of the most recorded songs
in music history and God Bless America is the unofficial

Little Eagles of Siberia
Wednesday, February 14, 2007
From
the city of Krasnayarsk, 3,000 kilometers east of Moscow, this group
of 28 youngsters ranging in age from 11 to 19 has captivated audiences
in Russia, throughout Europe, and is making its fifth tour of North
America. Wearing brilliant and colorful national folk costumes designed
by the world renowned Krasnayarsk Ballet and Opera, their program
features instrumental works for balalaika and accordion (the traditional
Russian bayan) as well as polished choral arrangements ranging from
Glinka to Gershwin. After only a few moments of their outstanding
performance, it is easy to see why they have been dubbed "Angelic
voices from a corner of the world where Angels were not supposed
to tread."

Terry Myers Orchestra
Sunday, March 4, 2007
In
a salute to the King of Swing, Terry Myers and his Florida-based
orchestra frame impressive likenesses of songs that helped make
Benny Goodman a household name when big bands ruled the musical
world. Myers, an accomplished clarinetist in his own right, is backed
by first-class sidemen who give the orchestra a formidable punch.
They glide through Goodman-style charts without breaking a sweat
and do so with a warmth and buoyant demeanor that's contagious.
Solos are for the most part brief but rewarding, and the rhythm
section never loses sight of its mandate, which is to keep the orchestra
swinging.
